The Traditional Wood Pergola Model is our most popular due to the high quality materials, elegant design and low cost. Oftentimes, buyers of wood pergolas are intending to allow the wood to weather naturally or possibly they view refinishing the rafters as a fun Saturday family project. We use premium #1 pressure treated and kiln dried Southern Yellow Pine that’s much prettier than anything you’ve seen at the lumber yard. Because it’s kiln dried, the wood also behaves better with less twisting and cracking (although it does still split some).
