If you’re looking for a classic, rustic, beefy character and high quality for your wood pavilion, but don’t like what you’ve seen from timber frame prices, the beautifully designed Alpine model cedar pavilion is your perfect choice. Our framing is stronger and more resistant to moisture and because DSS is so strong, we can use Timber-Lock bolts and screws to hold it together. (and it has a limited lifetime warranty vs none for natural species.)
We use “Dense Structural Select” (DSS for short) pressure treated pine materials in all of our wood pavilions because it’s the absolute best material when it comes to longevity, strength, and appearance. Solid cedar, fir and hemlock posts and beams are more expensive AND have substantial splits and cracks. These materials are also too soft to engineer using screws and bolts, so they require costly (but beautiful) mortise and tenon joinery.
